Our students are developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

  Top News:  
Please join us for our 2nd annual FFA Banquet on Friday May 5th starting at 6:30pm with a meal. If you would like to join us for the meal it is $10 and you can purchase a ticket at the school office in Shelby or with the FFA Advisor. We would like you to RSVP for meal count by Friday April 28th, if you decide after this date to eat, you can still purchase a ticket before or at banquet. Banquet is free and open to anyone. This is a night for us to celebrate those FFA members accomplishments throughout the year and community members that have supported us. The Shelby-Rising City FFA Chapter took 15 members down to compete at the State FFA Convention in Lincoln held April 5-7th. The Shelby-Rising City FFA Chapter received two recognitions for their efforts in the "I Believe in the Future of Agriculture" campaign and "Feed Nebraska" for a food drive they hosted. Below are the results of all teams and individuals that participated.
  • The Conduct of Chapter Meetings Team (Jr. Parli. Pro.) received a Silver plaque (members included: Carson Rathje, Taylor Steager, Quin Micek, Grant Ohnemus, Tori Perry, Jayce Vrbka, and Grant Lindsley).

  • Agronomy: Team members included: Carter Smith, Garrett Ingalls, Clayton Watts, & Carson Rathje. The team received a white ribbon. Garrett received a blue ribbon and Carson received a red ribbon.

  • Floriculture: Team members included: José Escudero, Blake Grossnicklaus, Carter Smith, and Bryan Rivera. The team received a Red ribbon and 16th place overall out of 49 teams. All members received individual ribbons: José-blue ribbon, Blake & Carter-Red ribbon, Bryan-White ribbon

  • Welding: Team members included: José Escudero, Brenden Johnston, & Nate Grossnicklaus. The team received a Red ribbon. All members received individual ribbons: José & Brenden-red ribbon, & Nate-white ribbon

Thank you to everyone that came out to our Agriculture/STS Open House today. We had great turn-out for our Open House, breakfast and Hired-hand auction. We raised enough to send our members to state fully funded in April. On Tuesday February 28th we will have our district Career Development Events hosted at Central Community College-Columbus, this is students final chance to qualify for State FFA Convention in April this year.

District Livestock Judging Results are as follows: All members placed in the top 50 individuals. The junior team of: Curtis Micek, Carson Rathje, Grant Lindsley, & Garrett Ingalls placed 6th as a team. Curtis Micek placed 7th overall, Carson Rathje-21st, Grant Lindsley-27th, Garrett Ingalls-49th.
